Although the SCHS's mission includes: Collecting, Preserving, and Displaying historical artifacts from Sawyer County, the Board of Directors approved a much needed collecting policy back in January of 1993. Since the museum started in 1985, the collection of historical memorabilia continues to grow at a tremendous rate so it is necessary to maintain a policy outlining what the Society can and can not accept as donations.
